When are these thoughts finally going to stop?

Nervous. Scared. Overwhelmed. You feel stuck in your head. You can't slow your mind down.

You're anxious. You're preoccupied. And more than anything, you want it to end.

You want to slow your mind down, but you can't. You try to make the thoughts stop with other thoughts, but it doesn't work. So you start turning to other behaviors to get some relief.

These behaviors or actions (compulsions) work for a little while. But then the thoughts typically start stirring again. It's as if you're fighting a voice in your head that is tirelessly working against you.

So you end up feeling extremely stuck, and perhaps very alone, like you're the only who deals with this.

Your mind may obsess about a number of things:

  • Your relationships
  • Your hygiene
  • Your safety or other people's safety
  • Doing things the "right" way
  • Whether you're a "bad" person or not

We believe you can overcome OCD

It is possible to keep OCD from having the final say in your life.

With the proper therapeutic approach, you can significantly reduce the impact of OCD on your life and begin to experience real relief, peace and, most importantly, healing.

Our practice understands OCD and can help you heal through it.

OCD results from repeated adverse experiences throughout early childhood and adolescence where our well-being or safety either felt in jeopardy or was in fact in jeopardy.

Our mind adapts to this by starting to anticipate these sorts of events. This leads to the need for a compulsive or soothing action to help us relieve the anxiety or fear.

And so the loop goes: obsession (safety measure) -> compulsion (stress-relief measure).

Finding the way out.

Our practice works to identify and clarify some of these original experiences.

We'll help you gain more insight about why your mind perceives certain experiences in life as threatening and walk you through the process of reality-testing where you’ll learn how to reduce your overall sense of fear.

You'll also discover alternative, more adaptive ways to respond to your obsessions. You'll learn the rewarding practice of tolerating anxiety and fear—a crucial skill for overcoming OCD.

This is the depth-oriented psychotherapeutic process for treating OCD and it can be incredibly effective.

We’re about long-term healing, not just momentary relief.

A life where you’re in control.

Once you develop more insight into why you have your obsessions you’ll be best positioned to overcome them.

You'll be able to go from a life of feeling completely stuck in your own head, feeling isolated, alone and maybe even tormented, to a life that feels truly liberating.

You'll finally be able to make sense of what's been going on for you. And that alone is such a critical part of healing.

The freedom of being able to wake up and know you don’t need to go through your rituals or the constant racing thoughts, just being able to enjoy the day for what it is.

If you’re ready to experience real freedom from OCD, we’re here to help.

Why Choose Our Practice

01

We've done our own work

Would you ever want to work with a therapist who hasn't done their own emotional work? We wouldn't. And so we only hire clinicians who've done their own work in order to ensure confidence in the process for our clients.

02

We're depth-oriented & outcome focused

We're not a short-term, fix-you-in-six-weeks kind of practice. We want long term change and real healing. And that takes time. So we work very hard to help you get to the actual roots of your issues.

03

We don't stop learning

Our whole clinical team participates in quarterly trainings and monthly consultation group to ensure we remain relevant, informed and excellent in our psychotherapeutic care for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?

Our rates vary depending on the therapist's level of licensure. Sessions with our associates are priced between $100 and $150, while sessions with licensed therapists range from $150 to $225 per session.

Can I use my insurance?

We are considered "Out-Of-Network" providers, which means we do not accept any insurance directly. We've made the decision to work directly with our clients regarding payment, and they are very satisfied with this arrangement.

If you would still like to use your insurance, then you can potentially do so if your insurance plan has “Out-Of-Network” benefits. The way that would work is, you would pay for therapy at the time of the session, and then we will provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

We recommend calling your insurance company to confirm if your insurance policy has OON benefits for mental health services.

Otherwise you can choose to see us privately and not involve your insurance at all. See why many of our clients choose this option below.

Why would I choose to pay privately instead of using my insurance benefits?

Most of our clients actually prefer to work with us privately and not involve their insurance at all. This is because in order to use your insurance for counseling, a mental health diagnosis is required, and this gets attached to your record. If your challenges don’t meet the threshold of a diagnosis, then insurance companies can choose not to cover your therapy.

Insurance can put limitations on the number of counseling sessions you can have, prior to truly completing the process.
An insurance company has a right to call the therapist and ask how sessions are going
At any point they can say that therapy is no longer medically necessary and cancel the coverage

If you have more questions about this, or have questions about finding your OON benefits and would like to discuss, then we recommend reaching out to us page and we'd be happy to answer any questions.

How long are therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes to one hour, although the duration may vary depending on individual needs and therapist availability. Your therapist will discuss session length and frequency with you during your initial appointment.

What types of therapy do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of therapy services including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Our therapists are trained in various modalities to address a wide range of concerns and issues.
